Student Skate Sessions
Citizens Alley
Supported by Golden "K" Kiwanis Club
More than 600 student skate sessions brought middle schoolers from Central Middle School onto the ice this winter -- many for the very first time. What started as a field trip become something bigger: confidence-built lap by lap, new experiences shared with classmates, and a glimpse into what youth-centered recreation can look like in downtown Minot.

Citizens Alley
Local Motives has stepped up as in the interim operator of Citizens Alley, a year-round public plaza that opened in downtown Minot in Summer 2025. This public plaza was developed by Aksal Group and included turf, pop-jet fountains, public art, a winter ice rink, and areas for sports, markets, and live events.
